The Navitimer 1959 Edition in 18-carat red gold celebrates Breitling’s most legendary model and most coveted early Navitimer design in a limited edition of 159 pieces. The Navitimer 1959 Edition in 18-carat red gold features a black dial with contrasting white chronograph counters. One of the characteristic elements of the original 1959 Navitimer Ref. 806 – the Breitling lettering in capital letters and the unsigned wing logo – is revived on the dial, which is protected by a strongly curved plexiglass. The only concessions to the present day are the water-resistance, which has been increased to 3 bars (30 metres), and the Super-LumiNova® coating. Particular care has been taken with colour to ensure that the shade reflects the aged luminous material of historical watches.

Applied by hand, the coating gives the dial an additional touch of antique charm and genuine vintage character. The Navitimer 1959 Edition is powered by the in-house Breitling Manufacture caliber B09, a COSC-certified caliber with manual winding based on the famous Breitling Caliber 01. The Navitimer 1959 Edition in 18-carat pink gold is available on a brown leather strap with an 18-carat pink gold pin buckle and is limited to 159 pieces.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.

In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.

The Breitling Cinema Squad

In our modest way, we know that a Breitling watch is also aspirational – a dream worth achieving. Breitling watches have had remarkable roles on the wrists of some of our most beloved actors, including Sean Connery as James Bond in Thunderball in 1965.

At Breitling, we believe in the power of a team, the strength of a group, and the mutual identification of a common target, which ultimately leads to success.
