Designed for jet pilots, the Avenger takes on the toughest conditions in the cockpit and never admits defeat. This edition is a tribute to the Swiss Air Force Team, the aerobatic squadron of Breitling’s home country, also known as Patrouille Suisse. But you don’t need to be in the air force to appreciate its bold design, exceptional durability and superior functionality. The version features an anthracite-coloured dial with the unmistakable Delta-shaped squadron insignia and a special engraving surrounding the open case back of the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01. The black ceramic case and titanium fittings are complemented by a military leather strap. And even if you can’t pull off a barrel roll, you’ll appreciate the 300 metre water resistance, handy functionality and corrosion-resistant design all round.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.
In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.
Navigation and timer - or simply Navitimer
In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a circular slide rule that pilots could use to make all the necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the largest pilots' club in the world, appointed his design as its official timepiece.
