The new Aviator 8 Mosquito Breitling picks up two designs: on the one hand, the clocks that were designed by the Huit Aviation Department in the 1930s and 1940s, on the other hand, that of its prestigious reference 765 AVI, which is also known under the name Co-Pilot.
This timepiece honors an almost entirely wooden aircraft, the de Havilland Mosquito. Their speed and maneuverability contributed to their unbelievable success and unlikely role variety – for example, as an unarmed light bomber, day hunter, night fighter and even as a photographic reconnaissance aircraft. The Aviator 8 Mosquito features a 43mm stainless steel case and a black satin-finished, ADLC-coated stainless steel bezel with a handy red wish-pin, indices and Arabic numerals. The black dial features contrasting silver sub-dials – a reference to the mechanical Breitling manufacture caliber 01, which drives the watch.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.
At Breitling, we believe in the power of a team, the strength of a group, and the mutual identification of a common target, which ultimately leads to success.
