The Navitimer 8 B01 Chronograph 43 is powered by the in-house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. The self-winding 43 mm watch has a ratchet-wheel chronograph with vertical coupling and an impressive power reserve of more than 70 hours. The display features 30-minute and 12-hour counters as well as a date window. The highlight of this new range, the Navitimer 8 B01 Chronograph 43, is available in steel with a black or blue dial, or in 18k red gold with a bronze dial, each with the distinctive design elements of contrasting sub-dials. Presented on a steel bracelet or on an alligator leather strap, the COSC-certified chronometer features a transparent sapphire caseback.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.
In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.
Navigation and timer - or simply Navitimer
In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a circular slide rule that pilots could use to make all the necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the largest pilots' club in the world, appointed his design as its official timepiece.
