The Premier Duograph, a tribute to three generations of inventors around Léon, Gaston and Willy Breitling, showcases Breitling’s watchmaking expertise with its sophisticated drag-hand complication. Inspired by Breitling’s timeless classics, these Premier Chronographs feature rectangular chronograph pushers, Bicompax chronograph style and Arabic numerals, and delight with elegant design ideas such as grooves on the case sides, transparent sapphire case back and classic hands.

The term “duograph” was used by Breitling in the 1940s to describe a chronograph with a rattrapante function.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.

In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.

Navigation and timer - or simply Navitimer

In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a circular slide rule that pilots could use to make all the necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the largest pilots' club in the world, appointed his design as its official timepiece.
