The SuperOcean is the epitome of the classic diver’s watch. It was developed by Breitling in 1957 to equip professional and military divers, but immediately found favour with recreational divers and watch enthusiasts as well.
It not only looks good, but is also a technical marvel. Wide hands and indexes coated with luminous Super-LumiNova® allow excellent readability under water. With a water resistance of 300 m (1000 ft), this watch exceeds the minimum requirements for diving watches by a factor of three. The two strap options (rubber and metal) are equipped with a folding clasp that allows micro-adjustment of up to 15 mm to facilitate wearing over ties and diving suits. The scratch-resistant bezel with ceramic inlay ensures that it will not wear or fade.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.
In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.
Navigation and timer - or simply Navitimer
In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a circular slide rule that pilots could use to make all the necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the largest pilots' club in the world, appointed his design as its official timepiece.
