The Superocean Heritage ’57 Capsule Collection pays tribute to the original SuperOcean of 1957 and the cool, relaxed surf lifestyle of the 1960s. The 42-millimeter stainless steel case features two characteristic elements of the original model: a concave, bidirectionally rotating ceramic bezel and a dial with oversized indices.
Breitling’s Capsule collections are produced for a limited time and therefore in numerically limited editions, but the watches are not numbered. They give the traditional brand from Grenchen the opportunity to tell special stories rooted in the history of its core collection.
The Superocean Heritage ’57 can be combined with a Milanaise bracelet or a black, brown or gold calfskin strap with both a pin buckle and a stainless steel folding clasp. The model is powered by Breitling Caliber 10, a COSC-certified chronometer.

Breitling’s storied association with chronographs and aeronautics dates back to 1884, when Léon Breitling laid the foundation for a company that would remain in his family for nearly a century.
In 1923, a patented pocket watch with two chronograph pushers caused a sensation. The one pusher in the 2 o’clock position was used for starting and stopping, while the other, integrated into the crown, reset the chronograph mechanism. For the first time, it was possible for the stopwatch to measure multiple times in sequence.
Navigation and timer - or simply Navitimer
In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a circular slide rule that pilots could use to make all the necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the largest pilots' club in the world, appointed his design as its official timepiece.
