The wristwatches issued to military personnel are usually engraved with specific inventory numbers. However, this does not apply to the TUDOR watches issued by the Navy. There was never a troop-wide marking system. The watches were not marked at all or were marked at the unit level, with different codings, mostly for inventory purposes.
