This variant of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 has a bronze case, crown and push-pieces. The bronze used by IWC contains aluminium and iron as well as copper. This special composition makes the alloy around 50 per cent harder than conventional bronze. An important additional property is the material’s excellent biocompatibility. In addition, bronze develops a unique patina over time, giving each timepiece its own character and appearance.
The chronograph is powered by IWC’s manufacture calibre 69385. The chronograph movement enables stopwatch time measurements of up to 12 hours and was developed with a focus on robustness, reliability and precision. The chronograph function is controlled by a column wheel. A bidirectional pawl winding mechanism builds up a power reserve of up to 46 hours in the mainspring barrel.
