In 1968, the members of the Apollo 8 crew were the first people ever to see the far side of the moon. As a tribute, OMEGA has developed this striking ceramic chronograph with a skeletonised dial, a hand in the shape of the Saturn V rocket and a refined movement depicting the lunar surface.
OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869 can be seen through the skeletonised dial. This movement not only meets the industry’s highest precision standards, but also features a laser-engraved representation of the lunar surface on the blackened main plate and bridges. Thanks to the laser engraving and contrasting surfaces, the resolution is higher than ever before. aAll members of the Apollo 8 crew wore an OMEGA Speedmaster on their wrist during their mission.
