As part of the Five Deeps expedition, the Ultra Deep concept watch made history with its journey to the deepest point on earth in 2019. Following this world record dive, OMEGA produced a collection for everyday adventurers. A watch that was tested in real underwater conditions during the development phase, has water resistance to 6,000 metres (20,000 feet) and meets ISO 6425:2018, the standard for saturation diver watches – certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
The pattern is an accurate representation of the floor of the Challenger Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, which was mapped by the Five Deeps team using nearly one million sonar points. The lacquer finish, with a sea of lacquer covering the dial, gives the watch a beautiful depth. The dial also has a somewhat playful side. In UV light, the lettering OMEGA WAS HERE can be seen.
